I saw the children being brought to the ground by their dads and realised for them that's where the tradition begins. They will remember the days at the new stadium and I didn't see any unhappy faces just lots of youngsters having a glorious day.

Even if we were top of the league I'd still think the ground was a steaming pile of dog shit.
It's an athletics stadium and feels like being at a concert at the O2 with bubbles thrown in twice at the start of each half.
You are miles away from the game and I spend more time watching the big tv to see what is going on the pitch when the ball is up the other end.
The only hope is that new owners come in and knock the thing down and rebuild a football stadium.
Fingers crossed.

What does this mean? How does a stadium 'fail'?
If you mean 'do you hope it falls down?' then for comedy value alone, yes I do.

I don't want it to fail. I like the stadium. I am sad we left Upton park ? Yes , but we have to move on . Ken Dyer wrote an excellent article in the Burnley programme about this

I just wish people would stop excusing the stadium by saying if we were brilliant on the pitch it would be ok. It wont be.
The stadium is shit. End of
I still cant differentiate Fernandes fletcher or any half chap from my seat. Far too many split arse toilets and NO changes in facilities for the hoi polloi since the 2012 Olympics.
I'm pissed having just left the black bull, but ill say the same tomorrow. It is shit. How anyone can say their views (which is subjective) are better than UP are imo deluded
Btw. The booing at half time was fucking out of order. iF you go, at least get behind the lads

Exactly. Which is why moaning about it is a complete waste of time and energy.

I think it already has, i'd never want my club to be unsuccessful at anything but the ground is shit and that's not going to change

The place came alive after Hull hit the post for the third time today. Even Noble played like a man possessed after that. Very enjoyable.

Of course not. But long term, "success" for me would be somehow re-building it in to a football ground or moving to a new site.

I definitely agree the performances have really added to this bad feeling about the place. To be fair those there today did the best job I have heard in a while to lift the team from their deep, deep funk.

If we had won our first few games and were in the top eight then this thread would not have even surfaced, Upton Park was a shithole and needed flattening regardless. We had to move on and it wasn't possible while we were still there.
Move on and support the team or fuck off and stop the incessant moaning (especially from those who don't actually go).

Re: Do you want the new ground to fail?

My real annoyance is that we were told to fuck off when we approached Coe, Jowell et al.
I quite like the ground, but it could have been SUPERB if they'd have designed it with retractable seating like the PDP or the stadium in Sydney from the outset.
Personally my journey is significantly quicker/easier now, though. It only takes me 40-45 mins door to seat whereas Upton park would take me about 75-80 mins. But I appreciate this isn't the case for many other people.

Lounge? I'm a socialist and would never entertain any sort of corporate hospitality. It's vile.
And I've always loved Manic Street Preachers.

I want new owners to come in, take on the poison legacy of that twat Sebastian Coe and convert it to a proper football stadium.
Not as unlikely as you might think...

This is a very odd question to ask supporters, who in there right mind would want there team/club to fail? As that’s what is would mean, we can hardly collect our ball, say we don’t like it and go back to UP.
I should stick to what clobber people wear on match days woody.
